How long will the US oil reserves last?
The US has about 20,000,000 barrels of proven reserves. (including park reservations) at 2009 production levels, domestic supply of Oil will be gone in 8 years. (side fact is how valuable oil will be after we've sold all ours)

Oil last forever but oil does get dirty. Synthetic oil like conventional oil does get dirty. You can extend your oil changes slightly if you synthetic oil but no more than two or 3000 miles.
How long would the strategic petroleum reserve last the United States in a complete shut down of crude oil refineries?
Answer . The simple answer is that if refineries shut down the strategic petroleum reserves (SPR) would not help. The SPR consists of crude oil - unrefined products. While the US consumes about 21.4 million barrels per day of petroleum products, those barrels are refined products: gasoline, jet f…uel, diesel, etc. (MORE)
Peanut oil can be stored for up to 2 years or longer if stored correctly. It must be stored in an airtight container filled to the very top with as little air inside as possible. Store it in a glass container that is in a cool place with no sunlight at all. A refrigerator would be a perfect place. I…f it smells rancid or taste funny dispose of it. (MORE)
Well, it has been proved that Olive Oil is like wine, you can store it and it will taste better. American Olive Oil gets bitter after its expiration date. But, Spanish, Greek, Argentinian, etc, etc, can last decades stored and it will taste good.
by year 2050 all the existig wells will be out of oil and if there will be some new wells, that will also not last more than a decade or two.
Some estimates put this at 40 years, but it depends on how much more can be discovered and on being able to use sources such as tar sands.
An oil reserve is a discovered but not yet consumed pocket of oil. Reserves are typically in the form of crude oil that is pumped out of the ground as liquid, or tar sand that is mined and later processed into oil.
Maybe there too dumb! Maybe there too dumb! If you are talking about the oil from the Trans Alaska Pipeline, then they do use it. In fact, if you live in the Northwestern States, you use it too.
I heard a few people this month go around saying the U.S.A has not built an oil refinery since 1977 and I wonder where they hear this garbage. The newest refinery was built in Douglas, WY in 2008. Cheers http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=29&t=6
The US has about 30 Billion barrels of proven oil reserves. If assume use no oil imports (US imports about 60% of use currently) and current rate of consumption (oil use in US has recently begun to go down) of about 20.7 Million Barrels a day - US oil proven reserves will be drained in about 4 years…. If use current levels of import, the current reserves will last about 10 years.. If add in estimated prospective oil reserves, the US has about 130 Billion Barrels (unproven) additional reserves. Of the 130 Billion Barrels, ~ 85 BBls are offshore (~20 BBls in currently off limits areas) and ~45 BBls under land (~10 BBls are in ANWR). The prospective reserves would last at current consumption levels about another 17 years (21 total) with no imports or about another 43 years (53 total) at current import levels.. The US also has the largest formation of oil shale in the world, with an estimated 1.5 (some estimates are over 2) Trillion barrels of oil in oil shale in reserve or about twice the reserves of the entire middle east, but this oil is harder to get. If use 1.5 TBls with no imports, US has oil to last 200 years at current consumption with no imports and nearly 500 years if assume current import levels just from this source. (MORE)
Some predictions are for 40 years, but this ignores more difficult deposits like tar sands and oil shale, which will become more important as the supplies of liquid oil are depleted..
US oil consumption in 2006 was 20,588,000 barrels/day (Wikipedia), = 2.0588 x 10 7 . 112 billion = 11.2 x 10 10 . So this would last 11.2/2.0588 x 10 3 days = 5.44 x 10 3 days or 5,440 days = 14.9 years.
It will last for 40yrs. If we keep having any more leaks it'll run out quicker.
The remaining life of non-renewable energy resources are constantly being revised due to new innovations in extraction and processing methods, and because of developments in renewable energy resources.
Scientists have speculated that with the growth of the planet's population taken into account, another 500 years.
The actual total amount of the reserve is classified but I heard once that it is supposedly enough to keep the country and our military moving for about a week. I have heard several amounts over the years but like I said the actual is classified.
Prohibition in the US lasted from 1920 to 1933. . Almost 14 years! Prohibition in the United States, was the period from 1920 to 1933, during which the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcohol were banned nationally as mandated in the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.…. There are 19,120,000,000 barrels of oil in reserves in the US. These reserves produce 7,800,000 barrels of oil a day, the third most of any country. Most of these are located in Alaska and the Gulf Coast.
Under the current conditions certain oil supplies will only lastfor 40 more years. If conservation efforts are made and enforcedthese supplies could last much longer than this.
oil will only last for another 200 years as it is running out fast because people are using it too much!
The largest oil reserves in the United States of America are inAlaska. These oil reserves are not used as a main source of oil inthe US.
It cannot be stated exactly but certainly oil lamps were used in ancient times, so many thousands of years.
Zero years as Communism has never been an accepted mode of government within the US. Karl Marx, the acknowledged founder of what we know today as Communism lived from 1818 to 1883. His notions of Communism formed in the early 1840s and ultimately culminated in him writing the Communist Manifesto in …1848 along with Friedrich Engels. Marx is further known for his written works attacking the capitalistic system. There is a minor Communist Party of the US (www.cpusa.org) but they have never managed to field a major political candidate for government office. So - there have been small communist groups in existence in the US for the last century some of which still persist today. (MORE)
\nIf kept tightly sealed and refrigerated it will keep for a long time, probably at least 6 months. If not refrigerated (but well sealed) it should be fine for a month or two. If it is clear and does not smell rancid, it is probably fine (assuming it is less than 6 months old) .\n. \nOil exposed …to air will turn rancid rapidly - in a few days or less.\n. \nIn any case, it should at least be kept in a cool, dark, place.\n. \n(Refrigerated oil may appear cloudy until warmed up - that's OK. I started refrigerating mine a year or two, and it has dramatically extended the lifetime of the oil as described.) (MORE)
Current known reserves are larger than we have ever known. The United States is believed to have about 400 years of oil in known reserves between the Baikan and Green River Reserves.
maybe not for a long time because of the plant bombs happening there so there might not be no more coals because of these bombs. thats why we need to put a stop to these harmful things. also the nuclear radiation has a harmful effect on the earth. think before you do!!!
Oil is only likely to last a few months in a vehicle. This is lessif the vehicle is used a lot.
Your residential heating oil supply is largely dependent on the size of your home tank, the season, and your personal home energy consumption. You should always be aware of the residential fuel oil level in your tank, especially in the winter months. You use much more heating oil in cold temperature…s and it is important to never let your tank go below ¼ full before placing your next order from your local fuel oil distributors. Contact a local supplier in case you need an emergency heating oil delivery, luckily many heating oil distributers offer this service. (MORE)
No one knows the answer to this question. New oil reserves are discovered all the time. There is also those that believe that the earth is creating new oil all the time. So the question is impossible to answer.
because the government is greedy and wants America to pay for their mistakes while the laugh in our faces
It depends on which type of olive oil it is. Olive oil produced in a factory has been filtered and is clear. Real olive oil has a more cloudy appearance. Factory produced olive oil is good for only a few months, whereas real olive oil will last for 2 or 3 years on the shelf.
I would use it for a year or so no problem, but some people might say to use it sooner. Not sure you'd notice any real difference though unless you're really sensitive to that kind of thing.
It was predicted that our coal resources will last for around 250 years more. I am reluctant to agree with this statement though. Our oil reserves are expected to run out within the next 50 years if technology does not advance enough to give us alternatives. When this happens, our coal consumption w…ill rise and exhaust the reserves much sooner than predicted. (MORE)
Longer than your lifetime. Especially if we move towards the natural gas for cars and everything else we can.
There is enough oil in the ground to last for about 10 years unless new technology is invented. There is enough oil tied up in oil shale to last for many centuries when an efficient way of extracting it is discovered. There is enough oil tied up in the oil sands of Canada to provide for the needs of… the world for a century if a more efficient process of extracting it is found. (MORE)
In August 2012 my family and friends were celebrating a special occasion. Brights President Grande Reserve Canadian Champagne was being served to toast the occasion. Much to our disappointment (and embarrassment) after opening and serving the champagne none of the guests could drink the beverage. Ma…ny people complained that the champagne tasted spoiled. If you drive under normal conditions, I recommend changing conventional oil/filter every 5,000 miles. Blend every 6,500 miles. Full Synthetic every 8,000 miles.
For hundreds of years. deBeers diamond mining keeps vaults full of diamonds to keep the prices nice and high, rather than selling all of them. (Which would bring the prices far down.) There are diamonds in many places that have not been considered for mining.
well they say 50 years, but they said 60 years 40 years ago so it's always changing as we find new resorces.
There are oil reserves worldwide that aren't currently tapped for one specific reason: it's not economical to. An energy company isn't going to go into the hassle of creating a producing well if they're not going to reap a financial benefit from it. A good example of this is heavy oil, which as o…f a few years ago was considered the new "gold mine" of the oil industry. There are trillions of barrels in heavy oil reserves worldwide, but it is a far more costly extraction method than conventional oil, which is why not many people outside of the industry have probably even heard about it. Aside of technological hurdles need to be overcome for this type of oil, the price needs to be high enough that a profit will be gained from its extraction. (MORE)

The US currently holds a "reserve" of 345 billion barrels of crude oil in land. However they hold a 250 billion reserve of shore trhough out the Pacific trnech and Gulf of Mexico.
Probably not a good idea. Cooking oils may react with air, and become rancid- will smell really bad.
When things like potatoes, vadas donuts, and other similar items are fried it is safe to reuse the oil. When frying meat, chicken and fish, it is best not to reuse it. Also, the strong tasting foods like onions, spices, or garlic will create a smell in the oil, and it will not be ideal for reuse when… frying sweets or any other items. (MORE)
Oil does not wear out it just gets dirty. Change it every 7,500 -10,000 miles if you use synthetic depending on how you drive.
The cream was meant to be long-lasting so she put it away for future use.
We found boat oil still in the can how long does it stay goodbefore it goes bad
Optimally, engine oil should be changed every 3,000 miles. Some car manufacturers have modified that to 5,000 miles. Engine oil breaks down after a period of time as well, so it's best to change that oil at least every six months to a year, even if the vehicle hasn't gone 5,000 miles.

What percent of the world oil reserves are located in the area of responsibility of the US Fifth Fleet?
The Fifth Fleet is responsible for the Persian Gulf. The PersianGulf countries of Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are estimated to produced about 28% ofthe world's oil and they hold 55% (728 billion barrels) of theworld's crude oil reserves.
